OUR PHILOSOPHY
Chef Cannavacciuolo’s cuisine brings two different kinds of love to mind: one citing his past and the places his story originates in, the other gratefully looking to a land that opened its arms to him, the setting for the first of many dreams that have come true.
And this is how two regions, Campania and Piedmont, came to journey hand in hand, showcasing the excellence of raw materials and fine wines as well as the inspiration and flair that generate memorable combinations.
The Chef: Antonino Cannavacciuolo
Chef Cannavacciuolo’s childhood is punctuated with the fragrance of lovingly prepared dishes, such as his grandmother’s ragù, the first recipe present in his food memories.
He experienced spirit of sacrifice and a desire for perfection at an early age as he worked in various kitchens in Italy and further afield in Europe.
Then came the encounter that would change his life: Cinzia Primatesta, now his wife, and Antonino together accepted the challenge to return Villa Crespi to its original splendour. At barely 20 years of age, their dream comes true, a dream they are still living thanks to the impeccable work of their brilliant and passionate team.
Awards and recognitions are not long in coming, repaying the commitment of the Cannavacciuolo family. Among many, the entry of Villa Crespi into the Relais & Châteaux Group, the 3 Michelin stars of the Restaurant and the Chef Mentor Award 2025 awarded to the Chef during the 70th ceremony of the Michelin Guide.
